Monday August 10 Today we wiped everything away and started all over again. This morning, on the way to work, we found a sick oak cut in pieces in a field nearby. We collected the pieces and worked all day It’s not finished yet (It turned out harder than expected) A tree is the most beautiful thing there is and we imagined how men, cavemen - who had something to say - climbed in a tree. Long before the first stone there was a tree. And that’s how the story of our tree starts. With an oak. In the afternoon we were so into trees we ordered two trees for 14 dollar 50 that will be planted on Easter Island one of these days. We read that the Polynesian people, who lived there untill the 18th century, deforested their entire island and became the most extreme example of ‘ecocide’ (genocide through ecological disaster). All the tree species (of whom several were unique) disappeared as did 90%of the population.
